By Kaspar Believe me, I still want to hit guys. He's been consistent all year. Besides wearing a bad jacket one game, I think he's been good. Relax, have some sushi and a Diet Coke. It's a lost art . You've got to be dumb to do it. Hopefully we're not going to take practice against each other too seriously. Some games we play good, some games we don't. I don't think the Pittsburgh Penguins' management is that harsh. I think Craig Patrick is a very fair man, a great man. I don't think he has any bad things to say about me. I think everything will work out well. My lawyers were very careful with their words, and somebody was sitting there typing everything, like they do in court. The arbitrator made the award, and we accepted. Why would I agree to a pay cut without knowing what I was doing? He became a hero in this town. I want to go where I can make the most money. I have an Olympic gold medal, silver medal and a bronze medal. All I need is the Stanley Cup, you know? He's a pretty slow dude, but he can still put the puck in the net. I don't think European goalies are good fighters. It's going to be an interesting experience. I can't wait! I'm a little nervous. With a new team, you feel like you're on a honeymoon or something; you don't know what's going on. It's cool. I feel like a rookie again. Keep your heads up! One day I feel like I'm going to go. The next day I don't feel like I'm going to go. It's just whatever I read in the papers. Whatever you guys make up, I read it. He got mad! Actually, Yashin never scares me! The hockey gods were on our side. I said before the season I wasn't going to play hurt, but I guess I am. I own Dominik Hasek. He called me a Commie bastard. I didn't like that. Nyet! Nyet! How many sisters do you have? |
By Others About Kaspar He's a cheap shot artist. He's going to get himself killed here. I'm glad there were only blanks in the rifle Kasparaitis had. He's a great guy. He doesn't mind being the center of attention. The always entertaining, Darius Kasparaitis! The desirability of Darius Kasparaitis is twofold -- he'll help any team's blue line and the oft-quoted Pittsburgh Penguin is a media/marketing dream. Not too many guys feel sorry for Kasparaitis. How many times has he been out there whacking and chopping guys, knowing he wouldnt have to back it up? I might be in his kitchen for the first week, but after that I'm going to let him go. You hate to play against him, but you love to have him on your team. A lot of teams were interested in him, and some teams made offers as early as two months ago. He's got an element that only two or three other guys in the league have, with the open-ice hit, the others being [Bryan] Marchment and Rob Blake. Other than them, there aren't really many [defensemen] that, when you see they're out there, you really have to pay attention. And when he does hit, he hits hard. Kasparaitis finally gets himself outfitted again. That glove of Kasparaitis is everywhere on the play in the Penguins zone. Kaspar, he's darn near naked. Kaspar wants to see a lot of things. When Kasparaitis does that the other guys go loopin', but last night Kasparaitis went loopin'. It was a close series, but we have Kaspar. |
